Newstalgia Motors Presents Car No. 00184:
1946 Chevrolet Coupe
Details:
- Exterior: Every part of the body has been smoothed, shaved and
finished to perfection in a striking Corvette Millennium Yellow finish topped by
Purple Gothic flames and clear coated.
- Interior: The custom interior features supple Gray Leather accented
with Gray cloth inserts on the power seat surfaces and sculpted Gray cloth on the
door panels. Dakota LED digital gauges adorn the Bitchin Products dash, Ididit chrome
tilt steering column, billet steering wheel. A custom crafted leather covered center
console houses the JVC AM FM/CD player, Air Ride suspension controls and pressure
gauge. Vintage Air A/C, heat and defrost system (not connected). Other niceties
include Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Keyless Entry, and Keyless Trunk Release.
- Engine and Driveline: A GM Performance Parts ZZ4 Crate Motor fills
the beautifully detailed and finished engine compartment. Hidden lines and wiring,
lots of chrome and polished parts along with the continuation of the exterior finish
really makes it obvious why this street rod is such a show stopper! For those not
familiar with the ZZ4 package, with over 400 Ft-Lbs of torque, the ZZ4 is the best
way to put an aluminum head, roller cam, high performance small block between your
favorite fenders. According to the owner, this particular setup makes 430 horsepower
and has that great sounding muscle car idle, with just enough lope to let people
know this is no station wagon engine. Transmission is a TH-350 with a shift kit
and a Ford 9 in. rear end brings up the rear. The suspension, steering and braking
are handled by a Chevy Nova front clip with Air Ride suspension, an Art Morrison
4-Link with coilovers in the rear, and power front and rear disc brakes.
I challenge you to re-create the build of this awesome '46 Chevy Coupe for anywhere
close to the asking price!
